Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) is a type of rubber that’s coloured right through, and not black rubber coated with colour like SBR. The brightly coloured product is ideal for playground surfaces because it’s hard-wearing, maintenance-free and protects against falls from critical heights.
Rubber is a much safer and hygienic alternative, in comparison to bark chip or sand. It also makes it easy to identify foreign or dangerous items in the playground such as litter, syringes and dog waste.
