Synthetic turf is laid on a sub-base of road base and cracker dust, the artificial lawn has drainage holes all through the  primary and secondary base  material to allow good drainage. When the fake grass has been urinated on, it is very likely that the urine run-off will seep through the artificial lawn, into the sub-base and remain there.

Once heat or humidity penetrates the grass the uric acid crystals (the source of the urine smell) activates and releases the urine odour.

Uric acid crystals are difficult to remove, conventional cleaners and just water will not remove the uric acid crystals although it will help to dilute it.

Only a bio-enzymatic formulation found in Urine Free will remove uric acid crystals for good.

Urine Free has a bio-enzymatic action that is designed to “eat” these crystals along with the urea and urochrome components of urine, this will eliminate the urine smell for good.
